Coca-Cola promotion with SCVNGR starts Black Friday 2010

We’ve seen some innovative new ways of marketing recently using social media and technology and some of our recent posts on this include a mobile marketing campaign for “Inception” from Warner Bros, the social media campaign for the new “Conan” show and also the Bing campaign to promote the new Jay-Z book, “Decoded.”
Now we’ve just heard of another campaign this time from Coca-Cola in conjunction with the location-based app SCVNGR that will begin on Black Friday, November 26 in 10 malls. The promotion will take place using Simon Malls around the U.S. where challenges will be set up that can earn players points and special Coke rewards, according to Jennifer Van Grove over on Mashable.
The hidden shopping experiences are aimed at the teen market and the campaign is called Coke Secret Formula. Accumulated points can earn instant rewards such as merchandise and American Express gift cards. The campaign will be heavily promoted online, in print and in malls and on Black Friday there will also be mall street teams from Coke to explain how to use SCVNGR and spread the word.
