Thrift stores seek a share of Black Friday blitz

Secondhand stores are trying to muscle in on the Black Friday blitz this year.
Thrift and consignment shops are betting that people who have bought more used things for themselves since the Great Recession will buy used gifts this year. They're copying other retailers with gift certificates, elaborate window displays and early-morning specials.
For the first time, some Salvation Army resale shops will be open at 6 a.m., touting 75 percent-off early-bird specials on the traditional kickoff of holiday shopping.
Goodwill Industries Inc. also recently opened its first temporary Christmas shops to increase its presence during the busiest shopping period of the year.

The problem that we might be facing is actually trying to compare the various deals that will be available online. There are major deals being offered by Walmart, K-Mart, Sears, Target, Best Buy, Amazon and many more but which among them has the best deal?
Another question to ask when trying to decide on what item to buy for Black Friday 2010 is if we really need that item. Is this item necessary? Will this item be within the budget that I or my family has? During Black Friday each year most people have the tendency of compulsive buying where in they will just buy anything as long as they see a big discount on it. Later on they will realize that the item they have purchased is not a necessity and they could have used the money for other purposes.
So, for everyone in town who wants to know on the whats and hows o Black Friday 2010, here is a video which talks about the many facets of the annual Black Friday sale. Hope you learn something from this.

Black Friday Ads Means Christmas Is Almost Here

Many of the nations largest retailers have released their Black Friday ads early to get a leg up on competitors on the busiest shopping day of the year.

This weekend Macy’s and Kohl’s, among others, have “leaked” their Black Friday ads online. Others, including Wal-Mart, and Target, have had holiday sales starting before Halloween.

While many economists believe the recession is over, shoppers who have become accustomed to shopping in a recessionary environment will have to be encouraged to shop on Black Friday.

“Financial Times” reports “Retail analysts say this year’s deals mark a significant acceleration of pre-Thanksgiving activity, as retailers try to secure an early share of holiday spending,”

Alternatively, retailers want to get you in their store first, and keep you shopping.

This is the main insensitive for retailers to release the ads, and shoppers to take the time to find the ads before Black Friday shopping begins.

10 Amazing Pre-Black Friday Deals

And let's not forget that tryptophan coma you'll likely be suffering from thanks to all the turkey you ingest. If you're looking for another option, that's smart thinking. After all, lots of those deals will be offered online. And, as luck would have it, some retailers just can't wait to spring the Black Friday deals on you.
Many retailers have already started offering eye-popping deals on consumer electronics—and the majority of these deals are online. The National Retail Federation reported that 42 percent of holiday shoppers did some online shopping last year. This year, the number is expected to jump significantly as well as an increase in mobile shopping.
According to a Financial Times report, "Retail analysts say this year's deals mark a significant acceleration of pre-Thanksgiving activity, as retailers try to secure an early share of holiday spending." But, that doesn't mean that US consumers will be spending like they did before the recession. The National Retail Federation said people will only be spending an average of $7 more than they did last year. That could buy you a USB cable or two.
If you haven't started looking yet, now is the time to keep your eyes peeled for good bargains. We rounded up 10 deals that are hot on the Web right now. Remember, these deals are valid at time of publication and may not last long. The early bird gets the worm!
